January 10, 2022 - Subpart E Office Hours

January 10, 2022

Dear PSA Trainers-of-Trainers, Lead Trainers, and Trainers:

The FDA released the proposed revisions to Subpart E – Agricultural Water on Thursday, December 2, 2021. If you are not familiar with the proposed revisions, we encourage you to read through our December 7 PSA Trainer email, where we outline actions for PSA Trainers and PSA plans on Subpart E.

PSA will be hosting a series of “Subpart E Office Hours” in January and February to give PSA Trainers, extension educators, and others working with growers a platform to discuss the proposed Subpart E requirements and the impact it may have on produce growers. These office hours, hosted on Zoom, will allow participants to ask questions in an effort to align our collective understanding of the proposed Subpart E requirements. We also hope that promoting discussion will encourage participants to submit comments on the proposed rule to FDA.

The Subpart E Office Hours will be hosted on the following four dates. Each hyperlink contains a Zoom registration link. Upon registering, you will receive the connection details for joining the Office Hours.

We have invited researchers and extension educators to collaborate as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) during these office hours. Each session will last one hour and will not be recorded. There will not be a formal presentation and this is not a full review of the proposed rule. Please come with questions that you may have about Subpart E. Although the SMEs and PSA team may not be able to answer every question that arises during these sessions, we hope that the discussions will improve overall clarity about what is currently proposed. We also hope it will help inform the comments that FDA receives on the proposed agricultural water revisions. We can also discuss how to help growers submit their own comments or other areas relevant to grower interactions.

If you have any questions about the Subpart E Office Hours, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the PSA Team.

Thank you,

The PSA Team
